Projects
In addition to the business writing work that I do for my clients, I also pursue other projects independently. Those projects include developing websites, running blogs, creating e-books and other information products, developing online courses, co-writing and co-starring in audio plays for freelance writers, and writing books.

Blogs and Websites
Over the years I have run dozens of blogs, static websites, webzines, small content networks, Web directories, and forums. Here are my primary websites which are currently active:
- All Freelance Writing — This is my freelance writing blog (and my largest blog with over 1200 visitors per day and 140-170k+ pageviews per month). The blog targets freelance writers who are looking for serious growth in their careers, and I take a very no-nonsense approach to helping them get out of the low pay rut. I have a team of bloggers who write for me at All Freelance Writing, allowing the blog to offer authoritative content on a wide range of freelance writing topics in addition to an extensive and exclusive collection of free tools for writers.
- Naked PR — NakedPR.com is my now-retired PR blog, started during my days as an independent public relations consultant. The blog has an edgy approach to tackling industry issues mostly in online PR and social media. The content remains archived almost as a static site now. I do still blog about social media issues at SocialImplications.com.
- BizAmmo — Years ago I wrote about consulting and freelance topics for the New York Times Company’s About.com network. On leaving the network, I was granted a rights release on my content, and it has since been located on my own business blog (which used to be a small content network itself) along with newer articles on small business issues. I have a blogger working for me to maintain this business blog in addition to my own posts.
- AudioXposure — When my PR firm specialized in music PR, I launched a music blog called AudioXposure. The site was used to network with regional artists, and later international artists, both to grow the site and to attract clients in the industry. The site is mostly retired at this point, with the exception of the occasional review being published. Plans are to merge it with the upcoming launch of IndieLounge.com, scheduled for the summer of 2010.
- Free Online Courses – This site is a directory setup in blog format, showcasing some of the best free courses on the Web (often from highly-respected colleges and universities). I own and manage the site, and hire a group of freelancers to continually add new course material.
- Freelance Theater — I am the co-founder, co-author, and co-star of the Freelance Theater audio play series. The first series (the MadLance series) was launched in the fall of 2009. A second “Writer’s Beat” series launched in the spring of 2010, and a “Bedtime Stories” series will also launch in 2010. These audio plays take a new approach to tackling issues faced by freelance writers worldwide by combining entertainment, satire, and real-world business advice for freelancers. The Freelance Theater site recently became a part of All Freelance Writing.
Information Products
- Web Writer’s Guide E-book Series — The second e-book in this series for Web-based freelance writers is scheduled to be released in the summer of 2010. The series helps new freelance writers handle the business and marketing aspects of becoming successful freelance Web writers.
- The Query-Free Freelancer — The Query-Free Freelancer is a nonfiction book for freelance writers. It is currently in the drafting phase. The QFF website was merged with my freelance writing blog in 2010 to further develop my writer platform to eventually attract publishers using the query-free model promoted in the book. I’m also consider self-publishing as an option for The Query-Free Freelancer. Some paid e-books are also being released under the QFF label, such as the 30 Day Marketing Bootcamp for Freelance Writers releasing in the spring of 2010.
- Online Courses — A series of online courses is currently being developed, also targeting freelance writers looking to improve their careers. The intention is to release these courses under the All Freelance Writing umbrella.
- Podcast Series — Another project in development for 2010 is a podcast series for freelance writers (my primary target audience for my independent projects). This will also be released under the All Freelance Writing blog.
